Installer Monitoring
In addition to the office and on-site technical assessments our installers must undergo to achieve and retain their Certified Installer status, it is crucial we receive feedback from their previous customers so that issues or areas for improvement that wouldn’t ordinarily be found in an assessment, can be highlighted and addressed.
Whilst participation is optional, every customer registered on the Flexible Energy Register receives an automatic email from us asking them to rate and review their experience with their installer. We ask the customer to rate their installer in 4 key areas – Quality of Workmanship, Punctuality and Reliability, Customer Service, and Sales Process/Person. Plus, there is an option to leave a detailed review and/or upload images of their installation should they wish.
Requesting feedback directly from a customer helps ensure that only verified and honest reviews are received. Each time a review is left the installer is notified and offered the chance to respond, even if the customer has opted to remain anonymous.
Renewable Energy Review Centre
Under the free Beta Service we operated whilst undergoing assessment of our Installation Scheme to gain UKAS Recognition we collected over 11,000 reviews. These reviews, along with all reviews received under our Accredited Scheme will be added to a new website – the Renewable Energy Review Centre – where consumers can search for renewable energy installers and read their verified reviews. This new review website is currently in development and will be made available soon.
Validation Service
The domestic renewable energy sector has been dominated by Solar PV, Battery Storage, and Heat Pump installations, especially with the government providing attractive grants and incentives for consumers to purchase these products. However, the sector has also been dogged by mis-selling, resulting in major finance lenders pulling out of providing consumer credit in the marketplace and key stakeholders losing confidence in the industry.
Alongside the Flexi-Orb Installation Scheme, Certi-fi Schemes Limited also runs the Energy Performance Validation Scheme (EPVS) – a scheme that was instrumental in bringing finance lenders back into the marketplace. EPVS checks its members’ contractual paperwork and the quotations they provide to their customers, to ensure that all performance-related figures and savings illustrations are accurate and achievable.
Although Flexi-Orb does not mandate that certified installers must also be members of EPVS, through this service we can provide a free validation review for any customer who has obtained a quote from a Flexi-Orb Installer and would like the figures they have been provided to be independently verified.
