Our Impartiality Committee consists of the Managing Director of the Scheme and at least three independent members.

The independent members are drawn from similar industries involving the certification of the manufacture, sale, or installation of products into consumer homes, or regulatory or quasi-regulatory organisations that can demonstrate a broad understanding of certification. The Impartiality Committee will not include Flexi-Orb certified installers or their competitors, or individuals working with the renewable energy technologies covered by the Scheme.

The role of this Committee is to review our scheme activities and verify that they are performed impartially without undue influences that might affect the impartiality of the certification offered.

The Committee meets at least annually to review the impartiality provisions of the Flexi-Orb Scheme, to ensure that all certification activities are performed without risk to the impartiality of the scheme, and to ensure that there are no conflicts of interest within the Scheme. The Committee may also meet ad hoc if circumstances necessitate it.

The main responsibilities of the Impartiality Committee are: 

• To assist with the development of policies relating to the impartiality of our certification services.
• To periodically review the impartiality of our application processes.
• To advise on matters affecting confidence in certification, including openness and public perception.
• To prevent commercial or other considerations from affecting the objective provision of certification services.
• To ensure that the actions of the Committee itself do not present any risks to impartiality rules, processes, and policies.
