Our primary commitment is to the safety and protection of consumers. However, we also wish to facilitate the UK Renewable Energy Industry and avoid duplicate product certification applications and testing where it is clear that there is no benefit to either the consumer or the manufacturer. As such, Flexi-Orb does not operate a Certrification Scheme, instead, we mandate that 

Flexi‑Orb does not operate a product certification scheme and does not certify products. Instead, the Installation Scheme requires Certified Installers to use products that meet defined minimum statutory, regulatory, and technical requirements. Flexi‑Orb may maintain a register of recognised products to support compliance, quality assurance, and product traceability. Products not listed may still be used where the installer can demonstrate compliance with applicable standards, regulations and Scheme requirements.

The Flexi‑Orb Product Policy sets out the minimum standards that manufacturers’ products must meet before they can be used within Flexi‑Orb certified installations. It ensures consumer protection, product safety, interoperability, and supply‑chain transparency across all renewable technologies covered by the Flexi‑Orb Installation Scheme (INS‑001).

Master Policy 

A master policy that contains the core requirements that apply to all product types, including:

• Minimum standards for product safety and conformity
• Requirements for CE marking, technical documentation, and factory production audits
• Rules for product changes, retesting, and ongoing suitability
• Ethical sourcing and supply‑chain transparency
• Compatibility expectations between manufacturers
• Certificate content requirements
• How products are listed on the Flexi‑Orb Product Database
