The Flexi-Orb Scheme Working Group (SWG)
The Flexi‑Orb Scheme Working Group Procedure (SWG) brings together a broad range of senior level industry experts and stakeholders from across the renewable energy and home-energy sectors industry – including installers, accredited certification bodies, consumer advocates, technical experts, manufacturers, designers, and training providers – to fulfil the requirement of ISO/IEC 17067:2013 clause 6.4.2: “that the scheme owners understand the assumptions, influences and consequences involved in establishing, operating, and maintaining the Flexi-Orb Installation Scheme (referred to now as the ‘Scheme’) on an ongoing basis.”
The SWG fulfils its objectives through the operation of Sub‑Working Groups (SuWG) that support the development, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Flexi‑Orb Installation Scheme. This is achieved through a combination of physical meetings, online meetings, and the use of an online workspace for editing/commenting on Scheme documents.
The Flexi-Orb Senior Leadership Team retains overall responsibility for the content of the Scheme and its operation. Outputs from the SWG are fed into an Annual Review to monitor the ongoing development of the Scheme, and/or new schemes.
Core Objectives of the SWG
To ensure consistent, impartial, and collaborative development of the Scheme and any new schemes
To review current Scheme requirements
To develop and maintain technical documents
To ensure consumer considerations are embedded throughout
- To ensure that when information about the Scheme, or a new scheme, is made publicly available, it is transparent, understood, and accepted
Membership Information
The SWG is made up of voluntary Members who may resign at any time and without notice.
All discussions and materials, including digital material, are confidential to the SWG unless otherwise agreed and documented. To this effect, Members must sign a commitment to confidentiality, impartiality, and responsible participation. Where agreed, reports or minutes published by the Group are anonymised.
